In conjunction with Multicap, Art from the Margins (AFTM) presents The Superpowers of US an exhibition of artwork from over 40 artists from 8 Community Hubs across Queensland exhibiting Monday 19 July - Friday 3 September 2021. AFTM has been working with Multicap over the last six months to bring this exhibition together under one roof so artists, friends, family, supporters and facilitators can be inspired by the diversity and creativity of a talented group of artists, enabling a platform for all artists to present and promote their skills to a wider audience.

The Superpowers of US expresses the pride, joy and excitement artists experienced whilst creating in the Multicap Centre of Creative Arts (COCA) program. The COCA program supports a range of art and performance activities, offering creative options for artists of all ages living with a disability throughout Queensland to be able to present and promote their skills to audiences everywhere. ‘The Superpowers of US’ was exclaimed by one of the artists while installing his team’s work so it seemed a fitting title for the exhibition.

In this exhibition, artists have chosen a variety of inspirations for their performances and visual art which has been developed over the last 6 months and now comes together in the one exhibition at the AFTM Gallery.
