Alterations is an exhibition from Art from the Margins (AFTM) Gallery & Studios showcasing the creative works of a selection of Queensland artists from who are blind or partially sighted.
Curated by disability arts researcher, writer and emerging curator, Donna McDonald, the exhibition reveals how vision impaired artists adapt and alter artistic creative processes to make art in response to their world. It also seeks to inform others about the creative alterations and adaptations that people with vision impairments make in their everyday lives.
Alterations includes art works from AFTM Studio artists, Brisbane and regional Queensland artists who work across a range of media such as painting, photography, print making and ceramics.
Artists including Levi DiBall, Hayley Marrs, David Conway, Brendan Borellini, Guide Dogs Queensland Art Group show how making, viewing and interpreting art is not exclusively reserved for sighted people.
