The Saturday Drama Group holds weekly workshops that allow participants to explore many aspects of performance. The group is facilitated by experienced, practicing artists. Arts Support Workers also support the group. Where there are opportunities, the group participates in projects that have public outcomes.
The social aspect of a weekend workshop is valued by the group and this is encouraged and supported.
In recent years the group has developed video projects that involve participants devising scripts and ideas that they then film. The resulting short films are screened publicly or made available on-line. Their short film Ever Been to Neverland?, based (loosely) on Peter Pan, was screened at Bendigo Cinemas. Their current project Italy in Bendigo is a series of episodes set in a fictitious pizza restaurant.
