Coinciding with BrisAsia Festival 2021, Art from the Margins brings together two exhibitions featuring three artists. The artists behind these exhibitions share a love for storytelling - stories which are not usually in the mainstream, but ones that explore the diversity in the human condition.
Alongside this, Dark Moon Rising showcases the collaborative works of Lim and Lys, in what they refer to as ‘surprising creative outburst.’ Consisting of photographs and videos, this exhibition reveals Lys’ humorous ingenuity through his extravagant performance in front of the camera.
Through powerful photographic imagery, For the Sake of Love explores the experiences of Tammy Law’s mother after leaving the stability of her family and friends in Hong Kong and migrating to the Sunshine Coast in the 1970s. In particular, the exhibition illustrates the way in which her mother was confronted with renegotiating her identity.
The opening of these collective exhibitions will take place on Saturday 30 January, from 2pm-4pm.
Come along and be inspired through the images and words of the artists behind the lens.
