Qualia Theatre Call Out

Qualia is devised theatre highlighting disabled, Deaf and under-represented voices in Australian public psychiatric wards.

Qualia is a project of Heidi Everett Productions and is based in Melbourne (VIC).

Heidi is looking for a performance artist to join Qualia in early 2021 to be part of a short film. It's important for this role that applicants have been in public psych wards, and publicly identify with other disability or cultural belonging. It's also important that you have some experience in advocacy and also in stage/public speaking performance.

Artist will need to be able to attend workshops and filming in South Melbourne.

This is a paid role so applicants will need to supply a CV, and an audition may be required (over Zoom).

Qualia is a mental health respectful project and is PTS-aware, however applicants need to have reliable personal support/friends and be in a safe space to tell story through the arts.

An artist/story-teller with a sense of humour is highly encouraged and mental health support dogs welcome.
