Learn about the social model of disability and how you can best support the involvement of disabled people in the screen industry in Understanding Disability Equality, a special online webinar for the South Australian screen sector from the South Australian Film Corporation.
Presented by SAFC Disability Screen Strategy Executive Gaelle Mellis, this special one-hour interactive Zoom session will cover a range of topics to assist screen practitioners and businesses in working with Deaf and disabled people.
Topics covered in the webinar include:
* Understanding the Social Model of Disability, which doesn't see the individual as the problem and involves everyone identifying solutions for inclusion;
* Examining the barriers faced by disabled people in the screen sector;
* Questioning stereotypes, myths and misconceptions about disabled people;
* Making a commitment to change.
This webinar will take place via Zoom. Please register your attendance via Eventbrite to receive the Zoom link and password via email the day before the event.
