The program began as a partnership with Arts Access Victoria in 2012. The Write-ability ethos has been built around the importance of self-told stories, disability leadership and peer support, and the creating of opportunities for even the quietest voices to be heard. Projects and activities change each year and can include a variety of writing workshops, writing groups and performances, as well as individual pathway opportunities for writers.
Writers Victoria aims to make its program, services and opportunities as accessible as possible for people with disability. Please advise Writers Victoria about your access requirements, who will do their best to accommodate your requests. If you require an Auslan interpreter, please give two weeks notice.
