Designed for visitors who are vision impaired, this free tour combines vivid audio descriptions with tactile experiences, offering a multi-sensory journey through the museum’s most fascinating stories and objects.

Led by our knowledgeable guides, you’ll explore the prehistoric wonders of ancient Queensland, including tactile replicas of dinosaur fossils, and enjoy a bespoke experience in the Discovery Centre, where you’ll engage with stories and objects that celebrate Queensland’s rich biodiversity. Queensland Museum Kurilpa welcomes visitors of all abilities. We aim to provide an inclusive, accessible and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Queensland Museum proudly supports the Hidden Disability Sunflower Initiative. People who have a hidden disability can choose to wear a Sunflower lanyard, which discreetly indicates to staff and others that they may need additional time, support or understanding. Hidden disabilities may include autism, epilepsy, anxiety, PTSD or any disability that is not visible. For a lanyard, please ask one of our friendly staff at the cloakroom.

Parking
Accessible parking can be found on the lower level of Queensland Cultural Centre car park below Queensland Museum Kurilpa. 

Lifts from the car park to the main entrance on Level 2 will connect you with lifts to other levels of the museum building.

Wheelchair access
All entrances and areas in the museum are wheelchair accessible. Lifts are located in the centre of the building to enable access to all levels of the museum.
Space for wheelchairs is set aside at all of our events and activities, including lectures, workshops and shows.
You can borrow a wheelchair for use within the museum from the Cloakroom on Level 2. They are free of charge and subject to availability. Motorised wheelchairs are permitted in Queensland Museum Kurilpa.
