Front and Centre

This exciting arts leadership initiative puts women with disability front and centre! 

Front & Centre is a career coaching and professional development program open to applications from women with disability and/or who are d/Deaf working in the arts, creative and cultural sectors across NSW, the ACT and VIC.  The participation of women from Victoria is supported by Arts Access Victoria.

Produced by Accessible Arts with support from the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet’s Office for Women, Front & Centre is designed to support women with disability move into leadership positions such as artistic directors, board members and senior positions in programming and management. 

Up to 12 applicants will be selected to participate in this 10-month program, aimed to increase representation of women with disability in leadership roles through providing opportunities for personal and professional development, as well as opportunities to grow networks of peers, supporters and potential mentors. 

Accessible Arts Interim CEO Liz Martin says: “This program seeks to overcome the severe under-representation of women with disability in leadership roles in creative industries by fast tracking the development of the strategic networks that are essential to creating careers and leaders. 

“Change comes from the top and helping more women with disability to become arts leaders will also help accelerate efforts to make arts, culture and events more accessible for artists, arts workers and audiences with disability.”
